Programs

An educational experience encompassing mind, body, and spirit for the Glory of God

Our programs are built on several core features of a high quality Montessori education. These concepts are adapted to the developmental needs of each child and program, and the classroom environments are tailored to support these principles. We respect each child and let their needs guide us. The school day features long uninterrupted "work cycles", communal lunch for each classroom, and outdoor recess for all ages.

Toddler Program

Our toddler program serves children ages 18-36 months, supporting their efforts towards independence in a peaceful and joy-filled atmosphere. The strong desire to master self-care begins with dressing, washing, toileting, and eating according to each child’s individual capacity. Beautiful materials stimulate their curiosity and creativity.  The young child is immersed in a language-rich environment where they are part of a close-knit community and often experience their first friendships. Movement also abounds inside and outside the classroom as the children walk, climb, run, jump, reach, grasp, transfer objects, and use tools and utensils. We provide a sacred and nurturing place during these formative years, for the small child to grow and learn; a place that honors their dignity as God created them to be.

In the Kindergarten year, a child's previous learning is fully exhibited and exercised. Kindergarteners are engaged as  leaders in their classroom community. The curriculum continues to be developmentally attuned to each child’s ability level and they relish in the advanced academic concepts that prepare them for their Elementary years.

*Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old by August 1st.

Full-Day Lower Elementary (1st - 3rd)

The elementary child ages 6-9 years old is in a new plane of development in which the moral mind is awakened and they seek to understand the world beyond themselves. Maria Montessori recognized this and created "The Cosmic Curriculum" which provides the child with the whole picture of God's creation and their unique role in it. From that broader understanding comes further study and appreciation of all subject areas. In the elementary classroom, concrete materials help students explore the history of time, the fundamental needs of people, interdependence, the intricacies of language, the role of mathematics, and the spiritual needs of people past and present. Individual research and collaborative projects provide great satisfaction to the young child's desire to acquire deeper knowledge of the amazing world before them.
